These advances are critical for independently verifying national emission inventories.<\/p>\n<h2>TROPOMI and GOSAT<\/h2>\n<p>The TROPOspheric Monitoring Instrument (TROPOMI) aboard the Sentinel-5P satellite, launched in 2017, provides daily global maps of atmospheric trace gases including N\u2082O with unprecedented 3.5\u00d75.5 km spatial resolution. The GOSAT (Greenhouse gases Observing SATellite) series has provided continuous N\u2082O measurements since 2009.<\/p>\n<div class=\"atmo-data-box\">\n<div class=\"atmo-data-box__title\">Satellite Capabilities<\/div>\n<p>TROPOMI resolution: 3.5 \u00d7 5.5 km<br \/>\nGOSAT revisit time: 3 days<br \/>\nVertical sensitivity: ~0.3% precision<br \/>\nCoverage: global, daily<\/div>\n<h2>Emissions Attribution<\/h2>\n<p>By combining satellite observations with atmospheric transport models through inverse modeling, scientists can now attribute N\u2082O emissions to specific geographic regions and, in some cases, specific source types.
